Last updated: April 14, 2026
VisNavigans, Inc. ("VisNavigans", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the rights you have in relation to your personal data. This Policy applies to visnavigans.com and any affiliated services we operate.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account data — name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), profile photo (optional), and account role (mentor, mentee, or organization member).
- Professional profile (mentors only) — headline, hourly rate, disciplines/categories, availability, biography, resume, social links.
- Transaction data — items purchased, transaction amounts. Payment card details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us.
- Communications — messages you send to mentors, support tickets, and content of calls for which recording has been enabled and consented to by all parties.
1.2 Information we collect automatically
- Usage data — pages viewed, features used, content engagement, session duration.
- Device and log data — IP address, browser type, operating system, timestamps. Used for security, rate-limiting, and abuse prevention.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy.
2. How we use your information
- Deliver and operate the Service (process purchases, schedule sessions, deliver content).
- Send transactional communications (receipts, session reminders, password resets, support replies).
- Improve the platform based on aggregated, anonymised usage analytics.
- Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, law-enforcement requests).
- With your consent, send occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not rent your personal information to advertisers.
- We do not share the content of your private messages with third parties except as required by law or as described in this Policy.
- We do not track you across third-party websites for advertising purposes.
4. With whom we share
- Your mentor or mentee — profile information visible on the Service, plus the content of your messages and shared resources.
- Your organization (if applicable) — if you access VisNavigans through an organizational account, your employer/agency may see your progress and participation, per that organization's internal policies.
- Service providers — Stripe (payments), Zoom (video sessions), Bunny.net (media delivery), Google Workspace (email), and similar vendors, solely to operate the Service.
- Legal compliance — when required by subpoena, court order, or law, or to protect the safety of users.
- Business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to continued protection of your data.
5. Your rights
Subject to your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Delete your account and associated personal data (subject to legal retention obligations);
- Port your data to another service;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Residents of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, California, and certain other jurisdictions have specific rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do neither). To exercise any right, email info@visnavigans.com.
6. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active, for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, and for any longer period required by law (for example, financial records are retained for seven years for tax compliance).
7. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for sensitive fields, hashed password storage, access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure; in the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
8. International transfers
VisNavigans is headquartered in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where we and our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or in-app notice and will become effective on the "Last updated" date shown at the top of this document.
