Using coupons

Coupons give you a discount at checkout. They come from platform promotions, mentor-specific sales, or special events. This article covers how to apply them and what to do when they don't work.

How to apply a coupon

  1. Add items to your cart.
  2. Go to Cart (basket icon in the top nav).
  3. In the coupon field, enter the code exactly as given (case-insensitive; whitespace trimmed).
  4. Click Apply.
  5. If valid, the discount appears in your order summary. If invalid, you'll see why (expired / minimum not met / not applicable to your items / etc.).
  6. Click Checkout.

One coupon per checkout

You can't stack multiple coupons. The cart field accepts one code at a time. Apply a different code to replace the current one.

Types of coupons

Type What it does
Percent off10%, 20%, 50%, etc. off qualifying items
Flat offFixed dollar amount off (e.g. $20 off)

Percent coupons scale with cart size — 20% off a $50 cart = $10; 20% off a $200 cart = $40.

Scopes — what the coupon applies to

  • Platform-wide — works on any item in your cart.
  • Type-specific — "20% off courses" doesn't apply to bootcamps or sessions in your cart.
  • Mentor-specific — only applies to a specific mentor's products.
  • Item-specific — applies to exactly one product.

If your cart has a mix and the coupon only applies to some items, you'll see the discount applied only to the qualifying ones.

Why your coupon might not work

Error What to check
Coupon not foundDouble-check spelling, try copy-paste from the source
Coupon has expiredThe deadline passed; nothing you can do
Coupon has reached its usage limitOnly a limited number of people could use it — others beat you to it
Does not apply to items in your cartCoupon is scoped to a specific mentor/type/item; yours doesn't match
Add $X more to use this couponMinimum purchase not met — add more items or remove the coupon

Max discount cap

Some percent coupons have a max discount ("20% off, up to $50"). A 20% coupon on a $500 cart would give $100 off normally, but with a $50 cap it gives $50. You'll see the cap apply on the cart page.

Removing a coupon

Click the X next to the applied coupon in your cart. Or apply a different code — it replaces the current one.

After checkout

Applied coupons show on your invoice as a line-item discount. The discount is split proportionally across qualifying items, so if you refund a partially-discounted item, the refund amount reflects the discount (not the list price).

Finding coupons

  • Platform newsletter — occasional promo codes.
  • Individual mentors may share codes on their own social media.
  • Holiday sales.
  • Referral programmes (if running).

We don't run a "look for coupon codes" browser extension campaign — most codes are time-limited and targeted.

Can I share my coupon with someone else?

It depends. Platform-wide codes are usually shareable unless they say otherwise. Mentor-specific codes sometimes come with "for newsletter subscribers" restrictions — ask the source. Usage limits kick in either way.
